| The Tanamakoon Outdoor Centre invites you
to join in a weeklong art program in the wilds of Algonquin Park. This six
day course will offer participants the opportunity to develop their artistic
skills in the out of doors under the one to one supervision of an
exceptionally talented artist! Tanamakoon is located on its own lake fifteen miles inside of the west gates of Algonquin. The quiet northern oasis will offer incredible opportunities for both scenic and wildlife art. The fall colour can be spectacular at this time of year and will add a unique and special ambience for every artist. This course is taught by an important member of Canada's younger generation of Wildlife Artists, Dwayne Harty. During the course he will combine his abilities as a colorist and draftsman with his thorough understanding of the animals indigenous to this Ontario wilderness setting. Harty is a member of the Society of Animal Artists, from whom he received the Award of Excellence in 1993. In 1994 he was selected International Artist of the Year in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In addition to the wildlife subjects, Harty paints landscapes and has executed large scale murals and dioramas commissioned for the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, the Royal Saskatchewan Museum in Regina and the Algonquin Park Visitors Centre. |
